Welcome to the 2009 Tour of Daylily Manor!
The 2009 daylily season at Daylily Manor has been a strange one to say the least! Starting off the year behind in our chores because of health problems, we recovered and had almost "caught up" when the rains came...and came...and came.
We hope you enjoy a short tour of our gardens and enjoy some of our 2009 blooms. We will not be issuing a Fall Price list but will instead concentrate on getting our 2010 Price List published earlier. Since we only list about half the cultivars we grow on our website each year, we will have many new cultivars to add to our pages for 2010. Please return later in the year to see what cultivars we have added to our Picture and Price pages for 2010. We hope your bloom season for 2009 was or will be a great one!
While everything in the gardens really loved all the rain, it rained so much it was hard to even walk much less cut grass. The grass, daylilies, weeds and ...
the roses all loved the rain. The Knockout roses really "knocked" themselves out this year...
and despite the cool temperatures extending into the middle of May, the daylilies started to put on their show!
So as we strolled through the garden, we took pictures of whatever blooms captured our eye that day. We invite you to "stroll" through those some of those pictures with us...some are old and some are new...but all will make your "heart sing"!
The comments below was our intent for 2009. Turns out however these plans were changed with the hospitalization of both my Mother and Huey one right after the other and then the ultimate death of Mother. The garden was closed from late August 2009 until January 2010.
