Daylily Manor News

Thank You!

Thanks to everyone who has ordered or visited us over the years! We have enjoyed meeting and talking or corresponding with all of you. We hope our daylilies have added joy and beauty to your garden and hope they will for many years to come! And we look forward to meeting many more new daylily friends in the years to come.

Offer Changes Effective 1/15/2010

Over the past many years, Huey and I have continued to add to our daylily collection. It has spread to 3 of our 6 acres and grown to almost 2600 different cultivars and almost 20,000 pots. To say that tracking and maintaining our daylilies keeps the two of us busy would be a slight understatement! We aren't getting any younger and trying to find hired help has proven to be next to impossible, so our only recourse is to downsize. We have substantically reduced our prices for 2010 and listed almost everything for sale. Some daylilies we have offered on our price lists may only have one double fan available so you need to order early! For many daylilies, you will receive more than a double fan as we try and reduce inventory.
Because of the drastic price reductions, we will not be offering free shipping for 2010 or 20% bonus plants.
However, extra fans on your order and/or free daylilies of our choice may find their way into your shipment!

We usually are able to begin shipping in March. However, the unusual freezing weather for an extended period of time, has wrecked havoc on the daylilies freezing the daylily pots solid. At this time, we do not believe we will be able to start shipping until April. Therefore, if you request shipment in March, we may or may not be able to ship by then. We will notify you as the season progresses.

We are still offering the metal markers with printed laminated labels for 2010 at the same prive as 2009. Prices for markers/labels supplied and shipped for your order will be $.50 for each plant ordered. Orders for markers for cultivars you already have in your garden will remain at $1.00 each plus actual shipping.  We hope you will order the markers with your order as they last for years in your garden (we have had some in our garden for almost 10 years now) and is an excellent way of keeping track of your cultivars!

Garden Visitors & Sales

For our garden visitors, we now have a separate pot sale area (2 gallon pots). Only those plants available in that area are for sale by the pot. Prices are by the pot and may differ from the bareroot prices.

If you are planning on visiting our garden to pick up plants, a list of the cultivars available by the pot will be available to you. Daylily Manor is closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday of each week for shipping, maintenance and rest. If we are not at home, the gardens are closed to visitors. A call or e-mail is requested if you are planning to come Wednesday through Saturday to ensure we will be here.

Rust & State Inspected

As you may know, a daylily disease - Puccinia hemerocallidis - or "rust" - has spread across this country, Canada and Australia. If you need information on rust, there are many sites that discuss daylily rust on the web including the American Hemerocallis Society web site.  In addition, we will be glad to answer any questions you have. Daylily Manor maintains an active rust spray program and all daylilies will also be dipped in a fungicide prior to shipment. We (or anyone else) cannot guarantee rust will not appear in your garden. Daylily Manor is State inspected and certified.

Please contact us if you have any questions. (daylilymanor@aol.com or 601-964-3314)

And may your garden be filled with blooms in 2010!
